Centre for Applied Medical Biochemistry

Center for Applied Medical Biochemistry conducts educational and professional activities within the courses: Organization and Management of Clinical Laboratory, Point of Care Testing, Laboratory Endocrinology, Application of Radionuclides in the Diagnosis, Rational Laboratory Diagnostics, Humana and Population Genetics, Communication Skills, Evaluation of Instruments, Procedures and Reagents, Health Legislation in Laboratory Medicine, Professional Practice and Professional Training. Center is developing cooperation with other universities and professional institutions, thus improving medical biochemical activity.

Mission

Mission of the Center is active participation in graduate, postgraduate, and lifelong education of Masters of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, and advancement of medical biochemical practice through educational and professional activities.

Vision

The vision is to become a recognized center of excellence in the field of academic education and scientific and professional training for Masters of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine.

Objectives

Objectives of the Centre are to improve the quality of vocational education for Masters of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine based on competencies and to establish continuous cooperation with professional authorities and institutions both at national and international level.

Domains of the Centre:

1. Organizing and teaching several professional courses.
2. Organization of student professional practice and implementation of Professional training for Masters of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine within the curriculum of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb.
3. Organization of all forms of professional training for Maters of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
4. Cooperation with professional authorities, institutions and associations, both in Croatia and abroad.
