Full Professor Renata Jurišić Grubešić, PhD, MPharm
Centre for Applied Pharmacy implements teaching and professional activities within the courses: Introduction to Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy with Pharmacotherapy, Pharmaceutical Care, Consultation Skills, Pharmacy Informatics, Health Legislation, Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacy practice, and Professional training for pharmacists. The scientific work of the employees of the Centre is accomplished through collaboration with clinical and pharmaceutical institutions, national authorities, and professional organizations, and includes: randomized clinical and observational trials in the field of pharmacotherapy, dietotherapy and phytotherapy, as well as research in the field of pharmaceutical care and education. Centre is developing cooperation with other universities and professional institutions, thus contributing to rapprochement of the academic pharmacy and pharmacy practice.
Mission
Mission of the Centre encompasses an active participation in the graduate, postgraduate, and lifelong pharmacists’ education, as well as an improvement of the pharmacy profession through teaching and other professional activities.
Vision
Vision is to become a recognized centre of excellence in the field of academic education and scientific and professional training for pharmacists.
Objectives
Objectives of the Centre are to improve the quality of competency-based pharmacist professional education and to establish continuous cooperation with professional authorities and institutions both at national and international level.
Domains of the Centre:
1. Organization of the several graduate courses;
2. Development of a teacher-practitioners network and community pharmacy teaching setting;
3. Organization of student pharmacy practice and implementation of the Professional training for pharmacists in the curriculum of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb;
4. Organization of all forms of professional training for pharmacists;
5. Cooperation with professional authorities, associations, and institutions in Croatia and abroad.
